As we have been here now for a week it has become apparent that the Chinese people are very committed to their education and continued learning. They are disciplined in many facets of their lives and it is evident in our reading sessions.
Example: Many of our Readers travel several HOURS by bus to our 1 hour session AFTER they get off work only to travel home again when we finish. They come with questions and annotations in their workbook. They ask questions and listen intently.
This is a characteristic that I can honestly say that very few that I know have. Our time with all our readers has been very blessed. Topics such as baptism, resurrection, eternity, and prayer have breached all our conversations. Sometimes the language barrier is a minor hitch but we have discovered that charades works well and somehow God's message of love transcends any barrier of language we might have. God CAN do anything!

The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches. -Matthew 13:31-32 (NIV)
