Dear Family and Friends,
One-way airline tickets have been purchased, visas have been approved, and the house has been sold! Actually much more has happened including the sale of our cars, three garage sales, moving to a temporary residence, a busy summer with our youth ministry, and more! Needless to say, it has been a busy, exciting, and at times bittersweet couple of months. We remain prayerful, excited, and confident of God’s calling for our family to relocate to Beijing to share the Good News with Chinese nationals and anyone else we happen to meet.
Our one-year missions internship is scheduled to begin when we arrive in Beijing on August 22nd. Once we get to Beijing we will enroll in a university to study Chinese, begin apartment shopping, and work our way into our ministry schedule. When we have a physical address, we’ll let you know. We’ll also be sending out regular newsletters / updates. By the way, our good friend Katherine Gould is returning with us and will be a member of our team! please lift her up in prayer as well. For more about Kat, visit http://katwoman25.blogspot.com/.
Since we know we can’t do this alone, we want to say thanks to all of you who have joined us by praying for us and offering financial support. We are grateful for your partnership with us and thank God for the way he has provided! We still need to raise about $9,000 toward our goal of $49,800, so if you are able we would value your help toward that end.
To send us a tax-deductible contribution, mail support (or set up direct bill pay online [sorry, the church cannot do automatic drafts]) to Garden Ridge Church of Christ, 102 N. Garden Ridge Blvd., Lewisville, TX 75067. In the memo, please put “Coopers Beijing”. Garden Ridge Church of Christ is our sending church and has agreed to provide 50% of our total support! All funds will be used to provide airfare to and from Beijing, language study, food, lodging, international health insurance, and all of our other living and working expenses for one year. We are willing to make available to you a complete breakdown of our budget.
Whether or not you are able to contribute financially, will you please pass this information on to your church’s missions committee or leadership? We would love to visit with them about what God is doing in our lives and in China! Additionally, we ask that you continue to lift us up in prayer.
In Beijing, we’ll be focusing on sharing Jesus and our lives with the people we meet. We are thankful to be taking part in such an incredible opportunity. We pray that God will be honored and glorified in our partnership in China. Thanks for your love, prayers, and support. We will miss you while we are away. God bless you and your family.
In His Love,
John, Susan, and Nash

The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches. -Matthew 13:31-32 (NIV)
