We purchased our airfare to Beijing this week! The flight info is below. I think this is the first time I have ever purchased one-way tickets.

It is strange and exciting to think that we will be traveling to a new place never to return to the same "home" again. It got me thinking about how the only true home we have is in the Kingdom of Heaven, which Jesus describes as breaking into the world around us like a mustard seed and yeast working its way through the dough. It is funny how this Kingdom is both fully here and fully otherworldly as God continues to make all things new; moving us toward the new Heaven and new earth in which the new Jerusalem will come into existence.
In this journey to share the Gospel in China, may God move us to live more fully and presently in His kingdom and to rely less upon empire. The tension between Kingdom and empire is real and we all have our "one-way tickets" to purchase. May God grant us the wisdom and strength to follow Jesus as we do so.

Wow... nice short flight. I thought it was less than 3 hours from Canada to China, but what do I know?
